The open class feature over the short mile, drawn on lifetime earnings, has seen many of the progressive open class performers draw to advantage on the front row due to their lighter race records. SHES ALLABOUTLUV (3) again looks the horse to beat after defeating many of these comfortably at previous meetings. Whether she finds the front or settles handy on speed, her class and toughness make her the one they all have to beat. INTRUSION (4) was a strong first-up winner in the state after arriving with solid Melbourne and Sydney metropolitan form. While he is not blessed with brilliant gate speed, he should be looking to secure a handy position from his middle draw. WAVES OF CHANCE (2) will press forward in an attempt to cross the pole marker and find the pegs, where he will have options against other higher class performed horses, but wouldn’t surprise to see him hold the front. MUZZAME MATE (1) is chasing four consecutive victories and appears to be finally fulfilling his potential. While this is a significant rise in class, he did win in very fast time two starts ago after doing all the work outside the leader and now looks set to enjoy the perfect trail from the pegs. The Charlie Castles-trained pair SABINE (5) and BETTABLACK TIGER (6) have both been highly competitive in this grade, although awkward draws may see them looking to slot into the running line early with plenty of speed drawn inside them. MAEBEE (9) gets a favourable trailing draw after some excellent performances in feature races earlier this season and has since changed stables. If he returns to his best, he will be right in the finish. Whether she finds the front or settles handy on speed, her class and toughness make her the one they all have to beat. INTRUSION (4) was a strong first-up winner in the state after arriving with solid Melbourne and Sydney metropolitan form. While he is not blessed with brilliant gate speed, he should be looking to secure a handy position from his middle draw. WAVES OF CHANCE (2) will press forward in an attempt to cross the pole marker and find the pegs, where he will have options against other higher class performed horses, but wouldn’t surprise to see him hold the front. MUZZAME MATE (1) is chasing four consecutive victories and appears to be finally fulfilling his potential.
