BARBARY TALES (7) looks set to take advantage of the front row draw, despite being wide, and is expected to press forward in search of the lead, giving her a tactical advantage over her obvious danger. SMOOTH REASON (3) returned to her best with a strong victory last start and could go on with it now, having competed well against the two class mares mentioned above previously. Race comment
The second heat of the Granny Smith brings together last season's two standout mares in BARBARY TALES (7) and THE BRIDE (8), who dominated last year's Sires Stakes when running the quinella. BARBARY TALES (7) looks set to take advantage of the front row draw, despite being wide, and is expected to press forward in search of the lead, giving her a tactical advantage over her obvious danger. SMOOTH REASON (3) returned to her best with a strong victory last start and could go on with it now, having competed well against the two class mares mentioned above previously. ITSMENOTU (1) will be looking to take advantage of the pole draw to earn another podium finish, while GLENVIEW LANAKAI (2), OUR WILLOW (6) and ALWAYSATIGER (5) all have their share of ability and have been racing well, though they face a difficult assignment against the class runners in this field.Selections: BARBARY TALES (7), THE BRIDE (8), SMOOTH REASON (3), ITSMENOTU (1)
