AUSTON (7) won easily by 38 metres last week and recorded a handy time in doing so. He strikes a stronger field here and has also drawn wide, so he will need to improve again, but he appears to have the ability to do so. PETERS THE DREAM (1) should appreciate the pole draw, while MYSTERY MAIL (6) finished alongside him last start when both were beaten around 24 metres in extremely fast time. They would only need to reproduce that form to be highly competitive here. BETTOR THAN READY (4) has not been sighted since his debut in early March, though his recent trial suggests he has come back well and he looks one of the leading dangers. SABALENKA (2) arrives in the state as part of trainer Craig Turnbull's travelling team and has placed in all four of her trials.
