OVERVIEW: SILKY SMOOTH EXCUSE (2) settled midfield on the markers from the inside of the second line and finished third behind Elleker Hanover at Bendigo last outing. She is suited against this line up and is a definite winning chance. GIGIS GRINNER (3) races best over the sprint distance and is likely to give a forward showing. He led throughout to win over the unsuitable distance of 2190m at Shepparton on May 14 and he is a good chance of finding the lead again. FALLING SHARDS (1) deserves to break through for a win having been placed seven times this season. She ran home well for second behind Magic Craft at Cranbourne last outing and is drawn to receive every chance. JOEYS HANGOVER (6) endured a tough run when second behind Cracked Pepper at Bendigo last outing. He has been placed in five of his last six starts and should run his usual honest race. HAYJOSHANDCO (7) has led in all of his past three placed attempts. It is unlikely he will be able to find the lead here but he is just as effective when he comes from off the speed.
