OVERVIEW: MY ROCKING HORSE (2) is a 2yo taking on older horses but she was very impressive in her debut second. She settled three back on the markers, was held up for a run at a vital stage and stormed to the line late so she is capable of going one better here. SCARLETT NIGHT (5) began quickly to find the lead and backed off the tempo mid-race before being run down at the end when third on debut. She performed well at the trials prior and she is nicely bred so she is worth another chance. MAJOR FRIEND (3) has done well this preparation having been placed in all of her four attempts. She settled three back on the markers, moved through to trail the leader on the final corner and used the sprint lane when a close second at Shepparton last week. MAJOR TAXES (4) is a first starter for trainer Trevor Patching, which has performed fairly well in several recent Maryborough trial performances and must be kept safe. BACK: MY ROCKING HORSE (2) – 3 units (win)
