A small field assembles for the highest class race of the card, with half the runners gaining entry under the "non-winners of their past eight starts" conditions. KEEPERS IDEAL (1) looks the clear early leader and should be able to dictate the tempo, which will give him every opportunity to take plenty of running down. HAMMER DAN (2) is expected to settle on his back and, if he performs anywhere near his best, will be very hard to hold out in the home straight. It is difficult to see much mid-race pressure developing, with IRON CLAD (4) the most likely to lead the outside running line, although EVERYTHING BUT THE (6) could also roll forward after a string of consistent performances, despite meeting a stronger field here. KEEPERS IDEAL (1) looks the clear early leader and should be able to dictate the tempo, which will give him every opportunity to take plenty of running down. HAMMER DAN (2) is expected to settle on his back and, if he performs anywhere near his best, will be very hard to hold out in the home straight. It is difficult to see much mid-race pressure developing, with IRON CLAD (4) the most likely to lead the outside running line, although EVERYTHING BUT THE (6) could also roll forward after a string of consistent performances, despite meeting a stronger field here.
