RACE COMMENT
Looking for space down the back stretch last start, FERNCO NEL (6) was forced to slice between runners before checking off in the stretch. Despite the obstacles, he was able to stretch his AP record to eight wins from 11 starts with a half-head margin. This looks like a cleaner passage, and this progressive type can add another W. UDDERLY SWEET (2) was repelled off the gate here last week and was forced to face the breeze and do the heavy lifting. Fading in the closing stages after the tough trip it followed a similarly torrid run from gate 7 at the mile as CHEERSTOLOU carved out a 48.9 mile from the front. He looks better suited under the conditions on offer here. RAKASANDY (4) fought on nicely in the closing stages last start to grab the bronze behind RUBY RULES in slick time at the mile. Placed in three of his four appearances since winning midweek at the mile, he is a podium hope.
