Race comment
OVERVIEW: Most races have one, or perhaps two Burning Questions which will define their fate. Tonight’s fast class pace has about 11. Sadly, we can neither pose nor potentially answer each of these queries via this forum. The truncated aggregate of these questions is thus: will the pacy front row runners explode off the arm and ensure a genuine tempo or will those wider drawn relent and go back at the start. Essentially, there’s enough reason to believe enough fast-starters will use their major weapon that there should be hectic tempo which will favour one-run players. Heading the list of lethal swoopers tonight is TANGO TARA (9). He is first-up from a break tonight and resumes without a trial, but Andy Gath is well renowned for missing preliminaries if he’s convinced his horses are ready to roll. At his best, TANGO TARA (9) isn’t terribly far below the best going around and – in all honesty – this stalk-and-peel situation suits him infinitely better than playing the bully in transit. The other big winner should they burn up early tonight is the amazingly lovable SHORTYS MATE (7) who couldn’t have drawn any worse but couldn’t be racing any better. If the alternate scenario plays out and they don’t go hard after the start then CANT TOP THIS (2) and SICARIO (4) are the top two hopes but with so many potential scenarios at play you wouldn’t be ruling out DENIS WILLIAM (1) or BETTOR BE THE BOMB (10) either here tonight.
EARLY SPEED: 4?,6? + 3? + 1,2 RATINGS: 9/ 7/ 2/ 4/ 1/ 10/ 5/ 8/ 3/ 6
