OVERVIEW: BLUE CHIPPED (4) possesses early speed and will run a big race if he can find the lead shortly after the start. He had no luck at Ararat on Tuesday night when he was forced out four horses wide at the bell, lost his position then came again in the straight. COBBER MAC (11) races best when he is close to the lead but he does appear to be well placed against this line up. He began quickly and was wide early, eventually gained a trail and battled on nicely for fourth behind Goodlookin Rooster at Cobram last week. HEZA BRAXTON (1) is an interesting runner and must be kept safe. His only run since July was an unplaced effort in February where he dropped right out late ($4.00 fav). He hasn’t been to the trials recently but at his best form, he would be very hard to beat. He has had a lot of gait issues at the start previously so being drawn on the pole position isn’t ideal but he has too much ability to dismiss. RINGER RUSS (10) was extremely unlucky when he struck trouble in the back straight and ran home strongly for second at Bendigo. He followed with a fourth at Maryborough where he trailed the leader and appeared to have every chance. He finished second at a Bendigo trial last week and is worth a ticket each way. OVERVIEW: BLUE CHIPPED (4) possesses early speed and will run a big race if he can find the lead shortly after the start. He had no luck at Ararat on Tuesday night when he was forced out four horses wide at the bell, lost his position then came again in the straight. COBBER MAC (11) races best when he is close to the lead but he does appear to be well placed against this line up. He began quickly and was wide early, eventually gained a trail and battled on nicely for fourth behind Goodlookin Rooster at Cobram last week. HEZA BRAXTON (1) is an interesting runner and must be kept safe. His only run since July was an unplaced effort in February where he dropped right out late ($4.00 fav). He hasn’t been to the trials recently but at his best form, he would be very hard to beat. He has had a lot of gait issues at the start previously so being drawn on the pole position isn’t ideal but he has too much ability to dismiss. RINGER RUSS (10) was extremely unlucky when he struck trouble in the back straight and ran home strongly for second at Bendigo. He followed with a fourth at Maryborough where he trailed the leader and appeared to have every chance. He finished second at a Bendigo trial last week and is worth a ticket each way. Race comment
OVERVIEW: BLUE CHIPPED (4) possesses early speed and will run a big race if he can find the lead shortly after the start. He had no luck at Ararat on Tuesday night when he was forced out four horses wide at the bell, lost his position then came again in the straight. COBBER MAC (11) races best when he is close to the lead but he does appear to be well placed against this line up. He began quickly and was wide early, eventually gained a trail and battled on nicely for fourth behind Goodlookin Rooster at Cobram last week. HEZA BRAXTON (1) is an interesting runner and must be kept safe. His only run since July was an unplaced effort in February where he dropped right out late ($4.00 fav). He hasn’t been to the trials recently but at his best form, he would be very hard to beat. He has had a lot of gait issues at the start previously so being drawn on the pole position isn’t ideal but he has too much ability to dismiss. RINGER RUSS (10) was extremely unlucky when he struck trouble in the back straight and ran home strongly for second at Bendigo. He followed with a fourth at Maryborough where he trailed the leader and appeared to have every chance. He finished second at a Bendigo trial last week and is worth a ticket each way.
