OVERVIEW: MUAY THAI (3) is a former South Australian pacer, which was beaten by a long way into third at her local debut but she met a strong field and set up the hectic speed (mile rate of 1.58.1) so her effort was sound. She is likely to press forward at the start and looms as one of the leading chances. LASER MAJOR (1) won a race of similar standard at Mildura on January 20 and hasn’t had a great deal of luck with the barrier draw since. He dropped back to the markers from an awkward draw and was held up behind tiring runners so he had little luck at his latest seventh. CAESARS REIGN (4) was three horses wide early, moved up without cover at the 1500m and eventually gained a trail when a creditable third behind Skippers Swan Song at Mildura. She strikes a suitable assignment and is worth a ticket each way. HIDDEN FIGURE (8) is a former Western Australian trained pacer, which broke stride at her local debut and finished tailed off.
