OVERVIEW: GIGIS GRINNER (2) races best when he is competing over the sprint distance but he strikes a suitable field here. He pushed forward to race on the outside of the leader and went down narrowly when third at Shepparton last outing. He is likely to try and lead all of the way in this event. LOTAKEVI (1) is backing up quickly from his effort at Melton on Thursday, where he raced without cover for most of the trip and kept on grinding away in the straight for third. He trailed the leader and finished second at Geelong two starts ago and he is perfectly drawn to suit his racing pattern here. WILL AND ANDY (4) had every chance when he trailed the leader and finished sixth at Yarra Valley but he raced fiercely during the middle stages, which may have been detrimental to his performance. He occasionally bobs up at odds and is a possible improver under these conditions. TALLEGIO (6) is better suited to racing over the sprint distance but ran a reasonable race after settling midfield on the markers at Melton on Thursday and is a place hope. CHARISMA KING (3) should be getting fitter after his two runs back from a spell. EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 1,4 RATINGS: 2/ 1/ 4/ 6/ 3

OVERVIEW: GIGIS GRINNER (2) races best when he is competing over the sprint distance but he strikes a suitable field here. He pushed forward to race on the outside of the leader and went down narrowly when third at Shepparton last outing. He is likely to try and lead all of the way in this event. LOTAKEVI (1) is backing up quickly from his effort at Melton on Thursday, where he raced without cover for most of the trip and kept on grinding away in the straight for third. He trailed the leader and finished second at Geelong two starts ago and he is perfectly drawn to suit his racing pattern here. WILL AND ANDY (4) had every chance when he trailed the leader and finished sixth at Yarra Valley but he raced fiercely during the middle stages, which may have been detrimental to his performance. He occasionally bobs up at odds and is a possible improver under these conditions. TALLEGIO (6) is better suited to racing over the sprint distance but ran a reasonable race after settling midfield on the markers at Melton on Thursday and is a place hope. CHARISMA KING (3) should be getting fitter after his two runs back from a spell. EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 1,4 RATINGS: 2/ 1/ 4/ 6/ 3
