OVERVIEW: MAESTRO BELLINI (2) is a bold front running pacer, which led throughout to win at Melton three starts ago then dashed through along the sprint lane to win a heat of the Gordon Rothacker Memorial. He finished eighth in the Final but he will appreciate moving forward to the front line and he is a strong chance of leading throughout. REPEAT AFTER ME (9) appears to race best when he is able to lead but he was very impressive when he ran his rivals ragged in a brisk mile rate of 1.54.9 (2240m) at Melton last outing. He should receive a nice trail through behind MAESTRO BELLINI (2) from the start and is a winning chance again. JAMIESON STEELE (8) worked hard on the outside of REPEAT AFTER ME (9) and battled on fairly well for fourth last outing. He produced a big finish to defeat Change The Print (won since) in a mile rate of 1.52.7 on November 28 and he is strong enough to overcome the poor alley. STEEL SCREENS (3) is a short course specialist and finished off quickly to win at Ballarat last week. He has winning claims and BULLYS DELIGHT (4) is also a chance, particularly if he can get across to the markers shortly after the start. EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible leader), 1,4 RATINGS: 2,9/ 8/ 3,4/ 7

OVERVIEW: MAESTRO BELLINI (2) is a bold front running pacer, which led throughout to win at Melton three starts ago then dashed through along the sprint lane to win a heat of the Gordon Rothacker Memorial. He finished eighth in the Final but he will appreciate moving forward to the front line and he is a strong chance of leading throughout. REPEAT AFTER ME (9) appears to race best when he is able to lead but he was very impressive when he ran his rivals ragged in a brisk mile rate of 1.54.9 (2240m) at Melton last outing. He should receive a nice trail through behind MAESTRO BELLINI (2) from the start and is a winning chance again. JAMIESON STEELE (8) worked hard on the outside of REPEAT AFTER ME (9) and battled on fairly well for fourth last outing. He produced a big finish to defeat Change The Print (won since) in a mile rate of 1.52.7 on November 28 and he is strong enough to overcome the poor alley. STEEL SCREENS (3) is a short course specialist and finished off quickly to win at Ballarat last week.
