He won a heat of the Sires Stakes in a mile rate of 1.56.0 on October 23 and dashed home in a brilliant final half of 55.1 seconds in the process so he obviously has plenty of ability. CAPTAIN DAN (7) led throughout and won effortlessly at his debut then raced without cover for the duration and was beaten on the line at Warragul. He is likely to go forward at the start again and he should run another good race. GOODTIME MACH (5) began quickly and was able to lead all of the way at Geelong last week. This is a race of more depth but he should go well again. INDIGO RIVER (1) was runner up behind CAPTAIN DAN (7) on debut then finished unplaced at Wagga.
