RACE COMMENT

A standing start event where SAPPHIRE GAMBLER (1), TULLAH GIRL (2) and ALBERIO (3) are all excellent beginners from the tapes. It would be no surprise to see that trio establish a handy break on the remainder of the field after the first couple of hundred metres, which would make them difficult to run down over the middle distance. OLLIES MEDAL (4) has been slow away in his previous standing-start attempts but hit the line well when runner-up in a similar race last start. He would only need to step away cleanly to be a leading chance. WILL HE PIKE (7) and ROLLWITHARTY (9) appear the best of the 10-metre handicap runners and have both won or placed in similar events recently. MONTGOMERY BURNS (10) and ONEHANDONEBOUNCE (11) are the class runners of the field, but from the 20-metre handicap in a decent-sized field, they will require plenty of luck in running to challenge for victory.
