RACE COMMENT

A full field assembles for the high-class event of the night over the mile, where there appears to be plenty of gate speed spread across the front row. FOURTH RESPONSE (6) was an impressive all-the-way winner in handy time last start from the pole and possesses enough early speed to work across into a forward position despite the awkward draw. KARALTA ARTEMIS (7) may also be driven aggressively from the outside of the front row in an attempt to find the lead over the short trip, where he performs at his best. CHAMONIX (3) has been thereabouts since winning on debut in Tasmania five starts ago and looks set to enjoy a nice run on speed with cover. WEONA EAGLE (4) and LETSGOBRO (5) both possess sharp gate speed when asked, and it would not surprise to see both drivers press forward in search of prominent positions. If the front-row runners overdo things through the first half of the race, it will bring the backmarkers DIDYOULOUSAROOSTEA (9), BAIL DENIED (11) and MOVESLIKEALADY (12) right into contention, with all three capable of producing strong finishing bursts off a genuine tempo.
