He performed well at the Melton trials on Tuesday, where a narrow second and should give a bold showing. RIVER STORM (1) is resuming since winning the Homegrown Classic in December and hasn’t been to the trials but he has the class to test this field. He has defeated his main rival ROMEO (5) previously but race fitness might be the key to the result. SPRINGFIELD AFFAIR (7) has been competing mostly at Metropolitan level and will appreciate a drop back in grade for this assignment. His strong second behind Clymenus at Kilmore two starts ago is a good form pointer for this event. OUR SWEET JEANNIE (4) led throughout to win at Shepparton when resuming then followed with a third at Kilmore. It is a strong field but she is worth thought again.
