GUS (4) was able to make a mid race move to the lead last start when taking out a somewhat messy race where Lovemeto galloped on the home turn and impeded a number of runners back in the field. He is the series favourite and certainly did his claims no harm when doing that mid race work before still dashing home 28.1.
