RACE COMMENT

The stand start event rounds out the night, where six runners will start from four different handicaps, making for a strangely interesting contest. OLLIES MEDAL (4) bungled the start badly at his first attempt from the tapes, yet still finished only two metres from the winner. With any sort of safe beginning, he would take a great deal of beating. MIKI SANZ (1) is the lone front marker and therefore the lowest class off that handicap. He gets his chance to dictate over the 2200 metres and could prove hard to catch. SAPPHIRE GAMBLER (3) returns to the stand start, where he is a noted safe beginner, and should be well suited settling on speed. SETTEBELLO (2) can fly the tapes but has not been finishing his races off recently, although this could be the race where he improves.
