RACE COMMENT

SCHWARZ (10) is another Emma Stewart-trained pacer making his Tasmanian debut. He broke his maiden in May after an 18-month stint on the sidelines, having previously competed against some of the best two-year-olds. While it has been nearly two months since that victory, he has since trialled impressively, producing a slick last half, and would only need to reproduce that effort to take plenty of beating. ZIHUATANEJO (2) was beaten first up in the state at very short odds and has since remained in Tasmania, joining the Clare McDonald stable. He meets another handy field but should again settle on speed and be thereabouts at the finish. HEYNOWHEYNOW (5) is another Craig Turnbull-trained visitor, having led throughout to break his maiden at his latest start. Victorian form always demands respect in Tasmania, although the other interstate visitors may have a slight edge on exposed form. COLORADO GIRL (4) is another mainland runner making her state debut and, despite winning only once from 33 starts, possesses good gate speed and will be looking to use it to finish on the podium.
