ALWAYS BETTOR (5) showed his class first up as a three-year-old when an easy winner in fast time after enjoying a nice run in transit. He looks to have that X-factor edge on this field and should take holding out wherever he lands in the run. BARBER SHOP (6) resumes after strong performances in feature races last season, often doing things the tough way, and may have to do similar again, but will loom as a major threat late.
