RACE COMMENT

OVERVIEW: The Alex Ashwood trained pair BOYSTROUS (3) and BETTORBUST (7) both performed extremely well at the trials and are a good chance of filling the quinella in this event. Both horses possess early speed but BOYSTROUS (3) has the barrier draw advantage so he gets the nod. STERLING GIGI (4) worked out of the gate to lead, took cover and ended up being three back on the markers when second behind Baystyle at Melton. He is the most experienced horse in the field having been to the races four times and he should go well again. WICKED TORQUE (1) is perfectly drawn for her debut and finished second at a recent Maryborough trial effort so she is worth an investment. LOUS MAMBO (6) ran a sharper race last outing and is not without a chance. BACK: Quinella 3 + 7 – 2 units
