RACE COMMENT

OVERVIEW: Losing patience with ROMAN CHARLIE (2) a little bit, but will narrowly lean his way in a very winnable event from the good gate. He was three back the pegs before being severely hampered and then pulled up in a messy race at Ararat on Monday where he was favourite. He’d been running solid second placings before that, and I think there’s some untapped ability there. ONYX (7) ran past ROMAN CHARLIE (2) to win his maiden at Ballarat on March 2 and must have a chance despite the wide gate, KEAYANG ALABAMA (9) ran a good race from the chair in a slick last half two back at Kilmore and can be forgiven after not much luck at Ararat on Monday, there’s a big watch on BACKBEACH PETER (11) first-up for the Matthew Horsnell yard and following a huge 60m trial win at Mt Gambier, while BLUE MIKI (6) disappointed on return last week but should be given another chance based off some of his form last campaign. Hard race where not much would surprise!
