RACE COMMENT
OVERVIEW: A tricky race to assess with varying formlines and some difficult trial form to line up, so a market lead will be crucial. REALLY SMARTIE (7) creates interest at his first run for the smart Taiba barn. He comes here off a Melton trial win where they didn’t run time but he won with authority. BINALONG BAY (5) also won a Bacchus Marsh trial, and the time suggests he could be primed first up for the new stable. HOME AND DRY (8) has the exposed form to respect but faces a tricky draw. He was very good last week. WHATA OPTIMIST (11) brings Adelaide form which is difficult to assess, but as a 23-time winner is better credentialled than most of these.
