RACE COMMENT
OVERVIEW: NUGGET ROGERS (3) is always popular with punters despite not visiting the winner’s circle since last July. Driver Nathan Jack gets on well with him and delivered a peach last week, only beaten by a horse in top form. From the favourable draw and trip he has the speed to control his options. FRUGAL FARE (10) has mixed his form this preparation but finds a more suitable grade here compared to recent assignments. He has a strong strike rate with both the driver and at this track, and despite the tough draw over the distance commands respect. EDWARDE GRANGE (2) may represent value third up. He was quite good last time when unlucky with the map and found the line well. His best from this draw has him right in it. TEN DA TOUCH (9) is second-up from NZ for the new stable, didn’t have much luck last time and stays under notice. BACK: NUGGET ROGERS (3) – 2 units (win)
