RACE COMMENT
OVERVIEW: IAMAWINGATE (6) performs best when he can lead out then take cover. He finished a close second from behind the leader at Geelong three starts ago and wasn’t too far away from the same position at Hamilton last time out so he warrants consideration. PRESIDENTIALCHANGE (9) was confidently supported at Mount Gamber last week and was able to gain the prize after moving around the field to park without cover mid-race. This race appears to be no harder and he must be respected. ELLI JOH (7) has won two races at Mount Gambier recently and finished off best from midfield when successful last outing. She will need luck from the wide draw but is racing too well to dismiss. THE DEMOCRAT (4) trailed the leader but broke stride when switching back into the sprint lane when fifth at Charlton last week. He was a winner at Charlton in December and strikes a suitable assignment now.
