RACE COMMENT
It has been a mixed bag in three starts in Qld for SASSY GALLEON (4), a filly that certainly has the ability. Taking no part in The Great Square following an error, she then scored effortlessly from a 10m tape second up. A starting error last time again ended her hopes after being sent out deep into the red. Her fate will probably be known after the first 100m. DAIMYO (7) has developed a great record on this deck since arriving and chalked up a win from the mobile last start when sent to the front and trotting strongly throughout to record good time for the mobile mile. After facing some bigger handicaps, moving forward to 10m is a big asset. SOUTHERN DIAMOND (9) is a 6YO making his first race appearance on this side of the Tasman, arriving a four-time winner, the last of those victories in April 2024. Not asked for much in a recent trial, he stays under notice. ALDEBARANSTILINSKI (10) looked set to win for fun last start from the pocket trail but made an error and his chances went up in dust. Defeating AJAY VOLSTEAD the start prior, the 20m does look a tough hurdle.
