Former Queenslander DEMON BLUE (8) made a winning start for Jason Grimson when he came from a similar draw to this at Bathurst and raced wide but proved too good by close to 4m. If things go his way he could go on with it. CLASSIC ELEGANCE (4) is a consistent mare who has placed in both outings since winning off a let-up. Has built a handy record at this distance and should get her chance from this draw. GOODTIME LIBBY (2) led from much wider to win at this circuit and distance in her first outing for Michael Stanley in November and has placed in both outings since. Has the speed to take advantage of the low draw. RAGING WHITEBAIT (3) has come from back row draws in his two outings since switching form Victoria, finishing runner-up at Penrith last time. Better served by this draw and won his lone attempt at the mile. SET UP (10) draws out but is going well enough to be competitive with even luck.
