RACE COMMENT
OVERVIEW: MAJOR CORBIE (9) performed very well at the trials prior to a debut fifth behind Beach Dancer, where he attempted to lead throughout in fast time. He drops back to a trailing draw now and this is an easier assignment so he must be respected. AUSSIE JAY MAC (12) ran into a distant third behind The Postmaster in fast time when resuming then competed in a heat of the South Australian Derby. He is better than his form reads and looms as one of the leading chances. DAUGHTER OFDARKNES (8) is resuming since a sixth behind the smart pacer Coastal Drive at Melton in September 2024. She has a trailing draw and she performed reasonably well at a Melton trial effort on Tuesday so she is not without a chance.
