RACE COMMENT
OVERVIEW: YAMBUKIAN (7) continues to perform strongly and should give another forward showing. He recorded a sizzling mile rate of 1.51.7 when he scored at Melton three starts ago and parked on the outside of the leader throughout when a brave third at Terang on Monday night. BETTER ECLIPSE (9) didn’t perform up to expectations when he was returning from New Zealand on April 12 but his overall form has been at a very high level and he appears to be well placed against this line up. It would be a fitting result if the Jess Tubbs prepared BETTER ECLIPSE (9), TRIPLE EIGHT (5) or ROCKNROLL HAMMER (6) were to score in the race named in honour of champion reinsman Greg Sugars. CAPTAIN BELLASARIO (8) raced fiercely in the lead and had excuses at his latest sixth. He possesses a powerful finishing burst and is worth another chance.
