Melton R8 LOGICAL STAFFING SOLUTIONS PACE

Race comment

OVERVIEW: It is a strong race with several winning chances. WATTLEBANK ARNIE (5) is a former New Zealand pacer, which boasts strong South Island form and joins trainer Julie Douglas. He finished third behind Bluto at Invercargill last outing and Bluto has remained undefeated in two Australian starts since including a win at Menangle in a mile of 1.50.6 so the form line is strong. MADIGAN (6) is a quality 4yo pacer, which beat Ozzie Punta (won since) at Maryborough then followed with a fourth in the Central Victorian Championship. He is likely to endure a tough run from the poor draw but is worth thought. STRONG RESPONSE (1) races best when he is able to lead over the sprint distance so he is perfectly suited under these conditions. He attempted to lead throughout when a close third in a mile rate of 1.53.2 two starts ago. BETTER DAY (2) and OOH AH LISTAH (8) are both racing well enough to figure in the finish. EARLY SPEED: 1 (likely leader), 2,5,6 RATINGS: 5/ 1,6/ 2,8/ 7
