Race comment
OVERVIEW: In many ways, this penultimate affair for quality mares, may well be the programme’s most enticing event. On one hand. You have exciting 4YO’s BEACH LIFE (6) and NONPARREIL (4). On the other, there’s the wickedly in-form HEAVENLY CHARM (3). The race doesn’t end there, but let’s deal with this trio before going any further. With plenty of inside-front-row pace engaged, there’s no guarantee that HEAVENLY CHARM (3) finds the peg-line first. If there was a guarantee however, then she’d be tipped on top. Her last two efforts have been exceptional and if she led and held – or, more likely – led and trailed, she’d be awfully hard to hold out. Given our minor doubts, however, we’re taking the coward’s route and siding with BEACH LIFE (6) who should find the front one way or the other. The only little caveat is whether she’s superior over short trips and, if so, both HEAVENLY CHARM (3) and NONPARREIL (4) can beat her. We mentioned the possibility of other hopes earlier on, but their hopes are limited. If there was to be an upset it would come from either BONNIE BELLE (9) or VINCENZINA (5).
EARLY SPEED: 3,6 + 1,2,4,7? RATINGS: 6/ 3/ 4/ 7/ 5/ 2/ 1
