OVERVIEW: MAJOR MANBAR (4) led throughout and recorded a slick mile rate of 1.56.5 at Ballarat on February 24. His past two performances have been at Metropolitan level and he appears to be much better placed against this line up. MISSED THE TRUTH (3) is a strong pacer, which has been placed at his past three starts. He has battled on courageously after working hard at his past two placed efforts in the Boort and Birchip Cups and he is drawn to be prominent throughout. ZUBERI (1) is racing consistently having been placed at his past three starts and is drawn to receive every chance. He led out then took cover when second behind Captain Wilson in fast time at Yarra Valley last outing. BET ON THE TIGER (2) is a smart horse that finished fourth behind the boom pacer Captain Ravishing in both the Reg Withers Classic and in a heat of the Victoria Derby last season. He is first up since October and hasn’t been to the trials but he is too good to dismiss. A case can also be made for PATSBEACHSTORM (5), IM SHADOW BOXER (6) and CAPTAIN PINS (7) in a very strong race to end the Quaddie. EARLY SPEED: 4 (likely leader), 1,2,3 RATINGS: 4/ 1,3/ 2? / 7/ 5,6
