Race comment
OVERVIEW: It is a quality event with several winning chances. FLYING JO (9) won twice in succession prior to taking on the Metropolitan class at Melton. She was driven aggressively but couldn’t find the lead when tenth in the Ian Daff Memorial last outing (1.52.9) and she should receive a nice trail behind SWAYZEE (2) in the early stages of this event. SWAYZEE (2) is stepping up in class from his past two victories but he is a classy 3yo pacer and is capable of taking the next step forward. He settled midfield, came out three horses wide from the 700m mark and was able to grind out a victory in fast time at Yarra Valley last week. STEFSASTAR (3) hasn’t raced since a Bendigo victory in March 2020. He is meeting a tough field first up and is without a trial but he has won three of his five starts to date so he cannot be underestimated. LETHERHAIRDOWN (6) disappointed when resuming from a break but she has built up a good record since coming from New Zealand and has claims at her first start for trainer Chris Svanosio. MICTON MOUSE (7) returns from a Tasmanian campaign, MANTHADEE (8) recorded brilliant time at a Bacchus Marsh trial victory last week, FORM ANALYST (10) gets into the race nicely with a concession claim and WAYONBYE (11) will be fitter from his first up run so a good case can be made for many of these runners. OVERVIEW: It is a quality event with several winning chances. FLYING JO (9) won twice in succession prior to taking on the Metropolitan class at Melton. She was driven aggressively but couldn’t find the lead when tenth in the Ian Daff Memorial last outing (1.52.9) and she should receive a nice trail behind SWAYZEE (2) in the early stages of this event. SWAYZEE (2) is stepping up in class from his past two victories but he is a classy 3yo pacer and is capable of taking the next step forward. He settled midfield, came out three horses wide from the 700m mark and was able to grind out a victory in fast time at Yarra Valley last week. STEFSASTAR (3) hasn’t raced since a Bendigo victory in March 2020. He is meeting a tough field first up and is without a trial but he has won three of his five starts to date so he cannot be underestimated. LETHERHAIRDOWN (6) disappointed when resuming from a break but she has built up a good record since coming from New Zealand and has claims at her first start for trainer Chris Svanosio. MICTON MOUSE (7) returns from a Tasmanian campaign, MANTHADEE (8) recorded brilliant time at a Bacchus Marsh trial victory last week, FORM ANALYST (10) gets into the race nicely with a concession claim and WAYONBYE (11) will be fitter from his first up run so a good case can be made for many of these runners. OVERVIEW: It is a quality event with several winning chances. FLYING JO (9) won twice in succession prior to taking on the Metropolitan class at Melton. She was driven aggressively but couldn’t find the lead when tenth in the Ian Daff Memorial last outing (1.52.9) and she should receive a nice trail behind SWAYZEE (2) in the early stages of this event. SWAYZEE (2) is stepping up in class from his past two victories but he is a classy 3yo pacer and is capable of taking the next step forward. He settled midfield, came out three horses wide from the 700m mark and was able to grind out a victory in fast time at Yarra Valley last week. STEFSASTAR (3) hasn’t raced since a Bendigo victory in March 2020. He is meeting a tough field first up and is without a trial but he has won three of his five starts to date so he cannot be underestimated. LETHERHAIRDOWN (6) disappointed when resuming from a break but she has built up a good record since coming from New Zealand and has claims at her first start for trainer Chris Svanosio. MICTON MOUSE (7) returns from a Tasmanian campaign, MANTHADEE (8) recorded brilliant time at a Bacchus Marsh trial victory last week, FORM ANALYST (10) gets into the race nicely with a concession claim and WAYONBYE (11) will be fitter from his first up run so a good case can be made for many of these runners. Race comment
OVERVIEW: It is a quality event with several winning chances. FLYING JO (9) won twice in succession prior to taking on the Metropolitan class at Melton. She was driven aggressively but couldn’t find the lead when tenth in the Ian Daff Memorial last outing (1.52.9) and she should receive a nice trail behind SWAYZEE (2) in the early stages of this event. SWAYZEE (2) is stepping up in class from his past two victories but he is a classy 3yo pacer and is capable of taking the next step forward. He settled midfield, came out three horses wide from the 700m mark and was able to grind out a victory in fast time at Yarra Valley last week. STEFSASTAR (3) hasn’t raced since a Bendigo victory in March 2020. He is meeting a tough field first up and is without a trial but he has won three of his five starts to date so he cannot be underestimated. LETHERHAIRDOWN (6) disappointed when resuming from a break but she has built up a good record since coming from New Zealand and has claims at her first start for trainer Chris Svanosio. MICTON MOUSE (7) returns from a Tasmanian campaign, MANTHADEE (8) recorded brilliant time at a Bacchus Marsh trial victory last week, FORM ANALYST (10) gets into the race nicely with a concession claim and WAYONBYE (11) will be fitter from his first up run so a good case can be made for many of these runners.
