OVERVIEW: You know the juvenile season is bristling toward boiling point when the two debutantes are a full-brother to Poster Boy in BEACH VILLA (2) (Somebeachsomewhere – Aston Villa) and a half-brother to Safari in COMMANDER BUZZ (3) (Betting Line – Star Chaser). Nevertheless, when assessing the likely winner it’s impossible not to be swayed by one of Harness Racing’s golden rules; that Emma Stewart’s rookie 2YO’s almost never get rolled, and when they do it’s normally by another Emma Stewart 2YO. As a result we’re siding with BEACH VILLA (2) who won his only trial here last month in dominant fashion. One thing’s for however; he’ll wanna be bloody good, if for no other reason than the spectre of SOLESSEO MATUCA (6). More often than not, juveniles exposed early in the season tend to make hay until the proper classy freshmen take over proceedings but SOLESSEO MATUCA (6) may be an exception. Always highly rated by Damien Burns that bloke has improved every time he’s jumped in a float and with his speed, strength and ringcraft he won’t be lying down. That being said it’s just a stunningly strong contest overall where COMMANDER BUZZ (3) radiates X-factor based on three super trials, SORRENTO (5) set tongues wagging with an amazingly dominant last start success and LUVBITE (1) still warrants respect based on his excellent debut effort.
