OVERVIEW: The early season juvenile event is hard to assess with six horses making their debut and two horses travelling to Victoria from New South Wales. MASQUERADING (5) is out of a Group 1 winning mare in Pressplay and was very impressive when he charged away to win a Bendigo trial recently. He obviously has ability and is worth following. SINISTER (8) was able to win at Junee on his debut and it was a tidy performance. He moved away from the markers after commencing from the inside of the second line, settled four back on the outside and sustained a long run out three horses wide from the 700m to get the prize. He has the same awkward draw but he has the benefit of race experience and should run a game race again. MISTER REA (4) is a New South Wales trained pacer, which won a trial at Coolamon in a reasonable mile rate of 2.2.5. It is a long way to for trainer Raymond Walker to travel with just the one runner so obviously MISTER REA (4) has ability. SUNSHINE WARRIOR (1) has been placed in three recent trial performances, the latest being a close second behind the 3yo pacer Northern Stride at Melton and he is drawn to go well. MITZI SAID (7) has a poor draw to overcome but she sprinted sharply to win a Melton trial last week so she cannot be underestimated. Race comment
EARLY SPEED: 3 (possible leader), 1,4,7 RATINGS: 5,8/ 4/ 1,7/ 3/ 2/ 6
