OVERVIEW: A super-even Trotters Cup this year. THE PENNY DROPS (2) gets his chance to collect the silverware. The key form races are the Kilmore run on December 8 when defeated MAH MUKKER (7) and HANGING ON A DREAM (4), and his fifth at Maryborough on November 1 when was close-up behind SCRUFFY DOOLAN (9) when the latter horse enjoyed a much softer trip. THE PENNY DROPS is 1/1 at the track and has a superb standing start record. He’s ready. MAH MUKKER (7), SCRUFFY DOOLAN (9) and TRAVEL BUG (10) all loom as big chances. FATHER CHRISTMAS (5) is coming off a terrific last-start second and is a 13-time stand-start winner. HANGING ON A DREAM (4) is racing in career-best form and stays all day, though this is a rise in class, while STRESS FACTOR (6) is the opposite, racing below his best, but as a past Vic Derby and Breeders Crown winner with Chris Alford aboard, you must respect. Race comment
EARLY SPEED: 5 (potential leader), 1,4,6,7 RATINGS: 2 / 7 / 9 / 10 / 5 / 6 / 4 / 11 / 3 / 8 / 1
