OVERVIEW: SURBITON HARTBREAK (8) trailed the leader, used the sprint lane, travelled awkwardly but only missed out narrowly when third at Charlton on November 16 and has had no luck since. He ran tenth in a heat of the Super Series but for a horse of his assessment (NR50) to be beaten 28m by the star pacer Lochinvar Art in a mile rate of 1.55.4 (2240m) was a great effort then he failed to finish with broken gear last time. He strikes a suitable assignment and is worth an investment. GOOD GUY MACK (4) has been in very good form but he hasn’t been able to break through for a win recently. He copped plenty of pressure when leading and finished second in a mile rate of 1.55.2 at Shepparton then followed with a fifth behind Major Banks where he worked hard early. He is likely to find the lead again so he gets his chance to break through for a win. SILKY SMOOTH EXCUSE (6) was aggressively driven mid-race to dash around the outside and find the lead just after the bell when she won at Shepparton on November 29. She has hasn’t had much luck with the barrier draw since and she might be able to return to form under these conditions. SOULWRITER (1) is drawn to receive every chance and is worth a place ticket. OVERVIEW: SURBITON HARTBREAK (8) trailed the leader, used the sprint lane, travelled awkwardly but only missed out narrowly when third at Charlton on November 16 and has had no luck since. He ran tenth in a heat of the Super Series but for a horse of his assessment (NR50) to be beaten 28m by the star pacer Lochinvar Art in a mile rate of 1.55.4 (2240m) was a great effort then he failed to finish with broken gear last time. He strikes a suitable assignment and is worth an investment. GOOD GUY MACK (4) has been in very good form but he hasn’t been able to break through for a win recently. He copped plenty of pressure when leading and finished second in a mile rate of 1.55.2 at Shepparton then followed with a fifth behind Major Banks where he worked hard early. He is likely to find the lead again so he gets his chance to break through for a win. SILKY SMOOTH EXCUSE (6) was aggressively driven mid-race to dash around the outside and find the lead just after the bell when she won at Shepparton on November 29. She has hasn’t had much luck with the barrier draw since and she might be able to return to form under these conditions. SOULWRITER (1) is drawn to receive every chance and is worth a place ticket. OVERVIEW: SURBITON HARTBREAK (8) trailed the leader, used the sprint lane, travelled awkwardly but only missed out narrowly when third at Charlton on November 16 and has had no luck since. He ran tenth in a heat of the Super Series but for a horse of his assessment (NR50) to be beaten 28m by the star pacer Lochinvar Art in a mile rate of 1.55.4 (2240m) was a great effort then he failed to finish with broken gear last time. He strikes a suitable assignment and is worth an investment. GOOD GUY MACK (4) has been in very good form but he hasn’t been able to break through for a win recently. He copped plenty of pressure when leading and finished second in a mile rate of 1.55.2 at Shepparton then followed with a fifth behind Major Banks where he worked hard early. He is likely to find the lead again so he gets his chance to break through for a win. SILKY SMOOTH EXCUSE (6) was aggressively driven mid-race to dash around the outside and find the lead just after the bell when she won at Shepparton on November 29. She has hasn’t had much luck with the barrier draw since and she might be able to return to form under these conditions. SOULWRITER (1) is drawn to receive every chance and is worth a place ticket.
