OVERVIEW: This is a terrific little 2YO event featuring all of the key juvenile protagonists from the Bendigo zone during the regional racing period with a couple of most interesting interlopers to add spice and intrigue. There are few bigger tasks in racing than winning over Bendigo's short course trip from a wide second row draw but the way HOLI STARZZZ (10) went last start she does still look the one. Basically she was left chasing a fast speed off the pegs and leading the one wide line. Yes, David Miles' drive was excellent, hanging back and keeping her comfortable but the win was still enormous and she should repeat the dose. That being said there was a lot to like about the debut of Shepparton based interloper DELIGHTFUL NIKKY (1). Her SP profile (she was $8.50 on debut) doesn't inspire enormous confidence but she hit the line really well despite being as green as grass and if she lobs the trail as expected she'll be super dangerous late. Of the Bendigo regulars CALL ME DIVA (2) looks best placed, particularly if she leads as expected but Glenn Douglas also has his freshman army involved with the best of his hopes coming via TREACHEROUS SAINT (8) and OZZIE PLAYBOY (9). EARLY SPEED: 2 (Likely Leader) + 1,3,4,7
