OVERVIEW: OZZIE PLAYBOY (6) began quickly to lead, took a trail at the 1200m and proved too strong when he beat a field of similar standard last week. He chased hard when 2nd behind the smart pacer Patsbeachstorm in a mile rate of 1.55.2 prior so he should prove hard to beat again. VALKYRIE (3) settled midfield, came out three horses wide from the 600m and finished off determinedly at her latest 2nd at Bendigo. She is a promising maiden and should be competitive again. LAY THE SMACKDOWN (7) has ability but is still learning. He led and broke stride at the 400m mark when 3rd at Echuca on his debut then went to go forward at the start, galloped and lost approximately 20m early before circling the field to race without cover last week. He galloped again on the home turn but was a beaten horse at the time. He has shown plenty of speed at the trials and is a winning chance if he delivers a fool proof display. OZZIE PLAYGIRL (1) was placed on debut at Bendigo then dropped out after gaining an easy run in transit when 6th in the Allied Express Classic at Melton last outing. She will appreciate a drop back in class on her latest run and she should go well from the pole position. EARLY SPEED: 6 (possible leader), 1,7
